Human Metapneumovirus (HMPV) has spread in China and has reportedly entered Indonesia. This virus mainly attacks children, with symptoms similar to the flu. Although not fatal, vigilance is still needed to prevent its spread.
The HMPV virus is not new. It was first discovered in the Netherlands in 2001. Unlike the COVID-19 virus, HMPV has symptoms that resemble the common flu.
Cases of HMPV infection generally increase during the rainy or winter season. However, this infection can heal on its own without requiring special treatment.
